An interesting question I’ve been pondering lately is in the realm of fashion. Obviously, fashion can quickly become a vain and prideful pursuit, but it seems to me that Christianity and fashion are closely tied together in the sense that all throughout scripture, clothing was used as a means of identity marking one out as king, priest, etc. Even in the last century, it would seem as though fashion has played a major role in establishing etiquette, respect, and class. When I look at people like CS Lewis, or J.R.R. Tolkien, I have a sense of longing for the kind of fashion choices they made, and were, in some sense, expected in their day. It is proper and right. In the modern culture fashion has lost its objectivity—and it’s beauty— which seems to be a result of the denigration of Christianity. Modesty is no longer valued, and things like a classic suit and tie are seen as strange daily wear.
How much do you think men and women are responsible to dress a certain way in the modern culture? Is “Christian” fashion an objective pursuit and a duty of Christian men and women?

I've been gone again for a time preparing for my ordination. I was ordained a Deacon in the Holy Catholic Church on March 8th, 2025.
It was a joy beyond words. I am now back in full swing with ministry, media, and work.

Good morning everyone. I wanted to quickly update you on the Mere Catholicity Podcast. I’ve been posting videos on my channel, but it has been quite sometime since my channel has had a podcast episode release.
With my new job as a classical teacher, scheduling interviews has been a challenge. However, my plan is to use my summer breaks as time to double down on planning and recording new podcasts. The idea will be to record a ton of interviews that will then slowly release throughout the school year, expiring around the time the following summer arrives. This will ultimately result in a consistent once a month interview.
All that to say, the podcast will resume here in May or June of 2025 with some excellent interviews lined up!
