Yesterday I wasn’t able to get to a devotion because my cat was unfortunately unwell, and I had to take him to the vet and care for him.
As I was caring for him along with my wife, I was moved by the fact that God’s faithfulness and love extends to the whole of creation. John 3:16 doesn’t say that God so loved mankind. It says that God so loved the world (kosmos). He knows us more intimately than we could ever know ourselves, but he also knows all his animals intimately too. He knows the whole of creation, because it is only in him and by him that it continues in motion.
As I sat with my cat yesterday, seeking to care for him, I was moved by this recognition: The God of the world knows and loves far more than I could ever.
Not only does he know and love, he actually plans to redeem all things. In Christ, the whole of creation groans with eager longing for the day when it too will be freed from bondage, into the glorious resurrection power of God.
Yes, I believe our pets will be resurrected. And I don’t just believe this from a sappy sort of “I need my cat in heaven” idea. I simply find it to be consistent with Romans 8, 1 Cor. 15, and multiple other places where God indicates the restoration of all things, not simply mankind. This is a postmillennial hope and this is the beautiful reality which brought me much joy yesterday as I cared for a sick kitty who is longing for the day when all will be made new.

I've been gone again for a time preparing for my ordination. I was ordained a Deacon in the Holy Catholic Church on March 8th, 2025.
It was a joy beyond words. I am now back in full swing with ministry, media, and work.

Good morning everyone. I wanted to quickly update you on the Mere Catholicity Podcast. I’ve been posting videos on my channel, but it has been quite sometime since my channel has had a podcast episode release.
With my new job as a classical teacher, scheduling interviews has been a challenge. However, my plan is to use my summer breaks as time to double down on planning and recording new podcasts. The idea will be to record a ton of interviews that will then slowly release throughout the school year, expiring around the time the following summer arrives. This will ultimately result in a consistent once a month interview.
All that to say, the podcast will resume here in May or June of 2025 with some excellent interviews lined up!
