Today, I just want to remind everyone of why I am doing what I am and hopefully remind you of why you joined this community.
As “Mere Catholics” we are striving towards a unity of faith and practice in conformity to the Scripture and the ancient Church. We have a desire to see schisms healed, doctrine settled, and church polity becoming one again. We are striving to see our sacramental unity manifest itself in altars that are open to all baptized believers. We are those who recognize each other as Christians; whether Roman, Eastern, Anglican, Lutheran, Presbyterian, or Baptist—you have a place at the table of Christ. We are also those who fiercely defend the apostolic faith in the face of error, calling one another to repentance when it is clear that apostolic teaching has been abandoned. We are those who defend the Scripture as a sacramental means of beholding Christ. We are those who revere the Eucharist as the pinnacle and summit of the Christian faith. We are those who honor and submit to the Creeds and Councils of the Church. And finally: we are those who by faith, look to the future, seeing a glorious reality awaiting; a reality that shows us that our work is not in vain. This reality shows that the eschatological church will be cleansed and brought to fullness. This is what we strive towards, fixing our eyes on the author and perfecter of our faith as we do so.

Those who continue to support here, I will continue to post here — mostly the stuff that is behind the paywall on Substack so that you are getting the exclusive content regardless of where you are subscribed.

I've been gone again for a time preparing for my ordination. I was ordained a Deacon in the Holy Catholic Church on March 8th, 2025.
It was a joy beyond words. I am now back in full swing with ministry, media, and work.

Good morning everyone. I wanted to quickly update you on the Mere Catholicity Podcast. I’ve been posting videos on my channel, but it has been quite sometime since my channel has had a podcast episode release.
With my new job as a classical teacher, scheduling interviews has been a challenge. However, my plan is to use my summer breaks as time to double down on planning and recording new podcasts. The idea will be to record a ton of interviews that will then slowly release throughout the school year, expiring around the time the following summer arrives. This will ultimately result in a consistent once a month interview.
All that to say, the podcast will resume here in May or June of 2025 with some excellent interviews lined up!
